It will soon be possible for people to use smart speakers to check their social media updates and post new updates. More focus on instant messaging: Since 2015, more and more people have been using instant messaging services such as Snapchat and WhatsApp, over social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. Although, many people still use social media, instant messaging and other private platforms are growing at a much faster rate. More regulation: Some people already call for more stringent regulations against tech giants to prevent them from practically monopolizing the Internet. However, social media gains profit from exploiting personal data and this is an ever-present issue. Regulation could be a much hated word, but it’s essential to ensure a safe digital environment for each of us.

 

More face filters: Face filters or AI lenses started to become popular last year and their use will become more prevalent in 2018. Combined with augmented reality and facial recognition used by latest smartphones, face filters can make it easier for people to interact with customers and provide more information. In 2017, Instagram released more than twenty new features and they included support for face filter technology.
